Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen has returned to full training with Galatasaray, as he hopes to make his much-awaited second debut against Fatih Karagümrük S.K. on Friday.

Osimhen rejoined the club permanently in a high-profile €75m deal from Napoli, after enjoying a successful loan spell at the club last season.

After ending the protracted transfer, Osimhen missed their first Super Lig game of the season, as Galatasaray beat Gaziantep 3-0.

The club’s coach, Okan Buruk, has revealed why the Nigerian striker was left out of the team’s opening Turkish Super Lig match.

“Osimhen had only a five or six-day training period,” Buruk told CNN Turk.

“Playing under such conditions could have been risky. I spoke to him, and he felt it would be wiser to skip this match and prepare to feature in the next one.”

The striker was part of the team’s session on Wednesday and could return to the starting lineup at Rams Park.

Osimhen’s €75m price tag makes him the most expensive player in Turkish football history, comfortably eclipsing the previous record held by Youssef En-Nesyri, who joined Fenerbahçe for €19.5m.

Galatasaray will pay Napoli the full €75m by the end of 2026, with €40m paid upfront and the remaining €35m in instalments by the end of next year.

His loan spell with Galatasaray in 2024/25 produced frightening form in front of goal, with 37 goals scored and eight assists provided from 41 appearances across all competitions.
