Like him or loathe him, Wasiu Ayinde Adewale Olasunkanmi Omogbolahan Anifowoshe (K1 De Ultimate), Fuji Music King may eventually become a real King, the next Awujale of Ijebu Kingdom.
This means that he may succeed late Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, GCON, Ọgbagba Agbotewole II from Anikinaiya Ruling House, who reigned between 2nd of April 1960 – 13th of July 2025.

Wasiu Ayinde Anifowose, who belongs to the Fidipote Ruling Family was born on the 3rd of March, 1957 in Agarawu, Lagos Island.
Here are seven cogent, realistic reasons he may become the next Awujale of Ijebu Kingdom:
- In consonance with modern trend, (rightly or wrongly), predominantly, only those with means and ultra-strong connections in the highest places have been emerging as traditional rulers in Yorubaland especially. K1 has the right connection where it matters and he is also above average in terms of personal financial standing.
- K1, specifically belongs to the ruling elites in Nigeria today. He is a universally acclaimed friend of the country’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The insinuation here is obvious.
- From point number two above, it can further be stressed that the ruling All Progressives Congress in Nigeria also controls Ogun State under Prince Dapo Abiodun who will eventually stamp the appointment of the new Awujale.
- There are four Ruling Houses in Ijebu Kingdom – Anikinaiya (produced late Oba Adetona), Gbelebuwa that produced Oba Gbelebuwa II who reigned before Adetona, Fidipote and Fusengbuwa. However, it is common knowledge throughout Ijebu Kingdom that by ‘rotational order’ it is the turn of Fusengbuwa Ruling House to produce the next Awujale. However, an observer informed PMParrot that the ruling house led by Adedokun Ajidagba cannot withstand the heat when ‘pushing becomes shoving’ in the succession battle. “K1 has all it takes to win”, submitted our source.
- The trend of ‘unusualness’ when it comes to selection of Kings in Ijebu Kingdom may also help KWAM 1. Late Oba Sikiru Awujale was recalled from the United Kingdom where he was studying Accountancy by both late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Chief Adeola Odutola for specific reasons. K1 too has the potentials of being ‘deployed’ too by the ‘authorities’.
- Another ‘unusualness’ in the history of Ijebu Kingdom that may also favour KWAM 1 has to do with a particular Queen in the history of the Kingdom. The unnamed ‘grandmother’, history recorded, that she had a lineage of children across three ruling houses out of the four. Strategists can use this in favour of King Wasiu.
- In addition to the above, Ijebus have this penchant and fondness for relating and promoting esotericism. According to Wikipedia, On 5 April 1960, newly crowned Ọba Adetọna took his seat as a member of the Western Region House of Chiefs, after a formal introduction. Ọba Sikiru Kayọde Adetọna was a charismatic Prince, and some Ọbas and Chiefs nominated him for the presidency of the House of Chiefs, albeit, an older and traditionally more senior Ọba, the late Sir Adesọji Aderẹmi, Ọni of Ifẹ was subsequently elected the President. KWAM 1 is also an ‘Atobatele’ who can rapidly become a ‘ranking’ Yoruba Oba who can stand shoulders high with other notable ones. He will also be expected to take the likes of Ojude Oba Festival to the very next level.
- K1, from all indications has genuine interest in becoming the Awujale. He has invested heavily in the town, he is also well loved and is a grassroots man. Additionally, he is extremely steetwise.
- History, Historians, Script Writers, Authors and other creative elements love, aspire and pray for the likes of K1 to achieve feats likes becoming a Monarch because of his antecedent as a popular international musician. It makes the story more sellable!
- King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal is obviously a special being created by God. This is evident in the fact that he is one Nigerian musician that has steadily been growing as a professional. K1, developed an interest in music when he was eight and by the time he attained the age of 15, he had won several local musical competitions. He later became a member of Sikiru Ayinde Barrister’s band between 1975 and 1978 after previously serving as an instrument packer. He released his first album titled Iba which included the track “Abode Mecca” in 1980, and thereafter, his most successful album Talazo ’84 in 1984. Right from his home in Falolu, Surulere, Lagos, he has been receiving many titles and music awards... Even, his recent ValueJet encounter in Abuja has failed to pull him down. This is, perhaps because of the divine, special love he personally enjoys…and this, hopefully, should keep him more humble and focused on the God-given assignments ahead of him.
