Oyebanji’s Govt Ready To Launch Training Programme On Campus-Safety

As part of efforts aimed at strengthening advocacy, sensitization and prevention of sexual harassment in campuses across Ekiti State, the Biodun Oyebanji-led government in the state is ready to launch a training programme on Campus-Safety in Ado Ekiti next Wednesday.

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the State Governor on Students’ Affairs, Miss Modupe Adetiba who made this known at a meeting with stakeholders in Ado Ekiti, explained that the initiative, tagged “Girls for Safer Spaces Fellowship (GSSF)”, is in line with Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s vision to build a safe, inclusive and empowered environment for youths in the State.

According to her, the programme will comprise of three months learning and mentorship engagement on Leadership and Advocacy to boost capacity of youths, particularly, the girl child, adding that it would be launched as part of activities marking the 2025 International Day of the Girl Child.

Expressing gratitude to Governor Oyebanji for providing conducive environment for the girl-child to thrive, Adetiba said the programme, which is supported by Gender Mobile initiative, a nonprofit organization, is expected to promote safety and gender equity within the students’ community.

In her remarks, the team leader of the Ekiti state lead of Gender of Mobile Initiative, miss Omotunde Blessing commended the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji for demonstrating leadership not only in Governance but ensuring initiatives that drives quality education and youth development.
