Afrobeats star, Davido is set to be inducted into the 2026 Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia, organisers have announced.
The organisers, on Instagram, described the singer as a global force in Afrobeats whose work has helped bring African music to a wider international audience.
“We are proud to announce our Summer 2026 honoree: Davido, Honouring Legacy. A global force in Afrobeats”, the post read.
They cited his influence across music, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship as key reasons for the recognition.
According to the announcement, Davido has built a sound that reaches beyond borders while remaining rooted in his heritage.
“Davido has helped bring African music to the forefront of the international stage. Known for his infectious hits, dynamic performances, and cross-cultural collaborations, he has built a sound that transcends borders while staying rooted in his heritage.
“Beyond music, his impact extends into philanthropy and entrepreneurship, inspiring a new generation of artists across the globe,” the statement added.
His career has included chart-topping songs, cross-cultural collaborations, and performances on major global stages.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for June 1, 2026, along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Northside Drive outside the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
American rapper Ludacris is also listed among this year’s honourees.
Davido, born David Adeleke, rose to mainstream prominence with Dami Duro in 2011 and has since released internationally recognised tracks including Fall, If, Unavailable, Feel and With You.
He has collaborated with artists such as Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby, and Summer Walker, and has received multiple Grammy nominations in recent years.
