Ibadan based prominent broadcaster, Abdulrazaq Abdulganeey Adekunle, popularly known as Mr. GRA, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Ibadan North Constituency 1 through affirmation as the sole aspirant for the party using a direct primary system.
Abdulganeey, who is also the National President of the Association of Nigerian Broadcasters (ANBROAD), won affirmation votes in all 6 wards during the APC primaries held across the constituency on Wednesday.
Speaking shortly after the exercise, party stakeholder Omilabu Ghandi expressed appreciation to all party members for their support during the peaceful exercise.
He noted that Abdulganeey emerged unopposed through a transparent direct primary conducted across all 6 wards in the constituency.
Ghandi encouraged all members of the constituency to unite in support of the winner as they approach the upcoming general election.
“The process was transparent, and members have spoken clearly. We urge all members to unite behind the winner ahead of the general election,” Ghandi said.
Speaking with journalists after the completion of the exercise, Abdulganiy appreciated constituents for their support during the election.
Abdulganeey thanked members of the constituency for the confidence reposed in him and promised to promote the welfare of the state constituency if elected in 2027.
He said, “I dedicate this victory to the people of Ibadan North Constituency 1. This mandate is not for me alone but for all of us who want progress in our community,” he said.
