The Olugbon of Orile-Igbon Oba Francis Olusola Alao has extended warm felicitation to Muslims in the ancient town and across Nigeria on this year Eid-el-Kabir.
In a press release on Tuesday, the monarch highlighted the need to thank Allah for preservation of life and the privilege to participate in another Sallah.
Pointing out that the festival symbolizes faith and sacrifice by Prophet Ibrahim, he noted that it also shows God’s faithfulness and mercy at critical times.
The monarch urged Muslims to emulate the prophet in faith and willingness to sacrifice to please God, assuring that God never fails to reward faith and sacrifice.
Oba Alao called on Muslims to be security conscious during and after the celebration, stressing that by collective efforts, Nigeria will triumph over the evil of insecurity.
He used the occasion to commend security agencies which are working tirelessly to rescue pupils and teachers abducted in Esiele community in Oriire Local Government, urging them not to relent in the efforts to secure the release of the victims.
While commiserating with the family of the teacher murdered by the kidnappers, Oba Alao advised residents to cooperate with security agencies and report suspected persons and movements around them to aid safety of all.
