World football ruling body FIFA has announced Nigerian Afrobeats superstar David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, as one of the performers at its Countdown Concert in Los Angeles as celebrations begin ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The concert will take place on June 10 at Crypto.com Arena and forms part of a live music event linking audiences across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the three host nations of the tournament.
The event is being organised in partnership with the Grammys and will be streamed worldwide through FIFA’s digital platforms, including TikTok.
According to FIFA, the Los Angeles concert will also see performances from Diplo’s Major Lazer, with other artists expected to be revealed soon.
The development is part of a first-of-its-kind synchronized live concert series across hosts Canada, Mexico, and the United States as part of build-up activities for the tournament.
FIFA stated, “Los Angeles will play host to a high-energy celebration, featuring Diplo’s Major Lazer and Davido, the first artists announced for what promises to be an unforgettable night of music, football, and culture.”
Speaking further, FIFA disclosed that the concert will connect performances across the three host nations, with live acts also being streamed from Mexico City and Toronto.
