Boxing fans in Ibadan are in for an exciting weekend as Glorious Sports Promotions prepares to stage its highly anticipated boxing event, “Fight Until The Killings Stop,” on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Indoor Sports Hall of Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Oke-Ado, Ibadan.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of Glorious Sports Promotions, Ganiyu Oladayo, the event is designed to promote boxing while using sports as a platform to advocate for peace and an end to violence.
The headline bout of the evening will feature a clash between Rashed “Efele” and Oyewole Ibrahim “Coded,” a contest that has already generated significant interest among boxing enthusiasts due to the confidence and determination displayed by both fighters ahead of the showdown.
Other bouts scheduled on the fight card include Sanusi Babatunde Chibuzor taking on Otedola Nurudeen Olalekan “Smally,” while Suara Ismail, popularly known as “Yahoo Boxer,” will face Adeniran Rasheed “Natural.”
In another exciting matchup, Ariyo Abdullateef “Alaamu” will square off against Tijani Tunde Joseph “Buredi. ” Abiodun Muhideen “Fighter” is also billed to battle Abass Lasisi, while Olalere Wareez “Wasco” will trade punches with Dauud Yakubu “Waykay.”
The event is being supported by Urban Fit Africa and Gloves for Africa, organizations committed to the development of boxing and youth empowerment through sports.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC), Hon. Gbenga Opaleye, has praised Glorious Sports Promotions for its commitment to developing professional boxing in the state and for the professionalism displayed in organizing the event.
Opaleye assured boxing lovers of an entertaining spectacle filled with continuous live-action bouts.
“We have taken a bold step in reawakening professional boxing in Oyo State with the training and workshop recently organized for boxing referees and judges, the first of its kind in the history of professional boxing in the state,” he said.
He emphasized that such initiatives are essential for nurturing local talent, improving officiating standards, and ensuring fairness in the sport.
Opaleye expressed confidence that ongoing efforts to develop boxing infrastructure and talent would position Oyo State as a major destination for professional boxing in Nigeria.
With a packed fight card and growing support from stakeholders, the “Fight Until The Killings Stop” boxing show is expected to deliver an evening of thrilling action and further boost the profile of professional boxing in Oyo State.
