The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Oyo State has moved to strengthen its media machinery ahead of the 2027 governorship election with the appointment of experienced journalists and broadcast professionals to the Bimbo Adekanmbi Governorship Campaign Council.
The campaign council, in a statement signed on September 26, 2026, announced Mr. Yinka Oladoyinbo as Director of Communication and Spokesperson, while Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju was appointed Co-Director and Spokesperson.
Named as Deputy Directors are Ms. Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa, Mr. Dapo Falade, Mrs. Bosede Sodiq, Mr. Moses Alao and Mr. Fisayo Daramola.
According to the council, all the appointments take immediate effect.
Oladoyinbo brings 27 years of post-qualification journalism experience to the campaign team. He is a Deputy Editor of the Nigerian Tribune and heads the newspaper’s Politics Desk.
His professional career has included stints with Daily Trust and The Punch, where he served as State Correspondent in Lagos, Ondo and Kogi states. The council also cited his grassroots political experience, including his recent service as Secretary of Ibadan South-West Local Government.
Giwa-Onafuwa, meanwhile, has more than 16 years’ experience in radio and television broadcasting. She has twice served as a General Manager and holds a master’s degree in Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan.
She is also a TEDx speaker, master of ceremonies and content creator, with board roles at Educare Trust and Alliance Française Ibadan.
Falade has over 20 years’ experience in journalism and political reporting. He rose to Deputy Editor at the Nigerian Tribune and handled major political assignments as State Correspondent in Ekiti and Rivers states as well as Lead Senate Correspondent in Abuja.
He later founded Newscoven.com in May 2020 as a digital news platform.
The appointments come as political activities intensify in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 governorship contest, with the APM campaign council positioning its communication team to drive publicity for Adekanmbi’s candidacy.
