Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Wednesday declared that President Bola Tinubu deserves a second term to consolidate his economic reforms, insisting that four years would be insufficient to accomplish the administration’s transformation agenda.

Reaffirmation

Adeleke, who reaffirmed his commitment to Tinubu’s re-election despite belonging to the opposition Accord Party, said Nigerians must give the President more time to complete the reforms he had initiated and place the country on a stronger footing.

Speaking at the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja, on Wednesday, the governor predicted victory for Tinubu in the January 16, 2027 presidential election, pledging to mobilise support for his return to Aso Rock.

Continuity

The Osun governor, who was recently appointed the state coordinator of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, said the administration’s reform programme required continuity, stressing that Nigerians should rally behind the President rather than interrupt the process midway.

“We must give our father, the President of this nation, time for his reform to work. It is not easy. Four years is not enough”, Adeleke declared.

He explained that his presence at the inauguration was a demonstration of his determination to support Tinubu’s second-term ambition and contribute actively to the campaign for his re-election.

“That is why I am here to throw my weight”, he said, adding that political leaders and supporters must move beyond rhetoric and commit themselves to the practical work of securing victory.

Adeleke, who expressed confidence in the President’s electoral prospects, said he could already sense the momentum building towards the 2027 election.

“I can feel the victory coming in 2027”, he declared, drawing cheers from the gathering.

“Nobody can stop this movement. Is anybody that can stop this movement?” he asked, as enthusiastic party supporters responded.

The governor, popularly known for his love of music and dancing, promised that the campaign would be marked by enthusiasm and celebrations as supporters worked towards returning the President to office.

“We are going to sing, we are going to dance all the way back to Aso Rock”, he declared.

He urged Nigerians, particularly political supporters and grassroots mobilisers, to rise above partisan divisions and rally behind the President’s ambition to complete his reform programme.

According to him, the time for lengthy political discussions had passed, as the priority should now be practical mobilisation and sustained engagement with voters ahead of the presidential election.

Adeleke disclosed that he had already commenced mobilisation efforts in Osun State, assuring the President that he would work across communities to secure the support necessary for his re-election.

“The work has begun. I have already started mine”, he said.

He called on supporters of the President to intensify their activities across the country and ensure that Tinubu secured the mandate to continue his administration’s development agenda.

“Let us rise and make sure our President comes back for the second time, so he can come and complete his good work”, Adeleke urged.

The governor also appealed to Nigerians to continue praying for the country’s leaders, particularly the President, arguing that the success of the administration would ultimately translate into national progress.

He maintained that the challenges confronting the country required collective support for its leadership, irrespective of political affiliation.

“Continue praying for our leaders. Continue praying for Mr President. If he succeeds, we all succeed”, he said.

Adeleke’s declaration further underscored the cross-party political alliances emerging around Tinubu’s re-election bid, with the APC incorporating prominent figures from other political parties into its campaign structure.

The governor, who secured re-election in Osun State on the platform of the Accord Party in August, was named the APC Presidential Campaign Council coordinator for the state in the revised campaign appointments released ahead of Wednesday’s inauguration.

His inclusion, alongside Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and other political figures outside the ruling party, reflects the APC’s efforts to broaden support for the President’s second-term ambition.

Adeleke concluded his remarks with songs of praise and thanksgiving, briefly turning the formal political gathering into a lively celebration as he reiterated his confidence in Tinubu’s victory in 2027.
