President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has joined others to express condolences to the people of Remoland and the Ogun State Government over the demise of Oba Adeleke Adelekan Idowu Basibo, the Alaperu of Iperu-Remo.

In a statement on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu hailed the late monarch as a leader who embodied peace, tolerance, and prosperity throughout his 22-year reign.

He acknowledged Oba Basibo’s dedication to his people and his unwavering commitment to the development of Iperu-Remo and beyond.

“Throughout his reign, Oba Idowu Basibo brought dignity and grace to the throne of Akesan-Odoru. He was a nurturing father figure to many, including Governor Dapo Abiodun, a distinguished son of his domain,” Tinubu stated.

The President described the late traditional ruler as a beloved community leader who was steadfast in his efforts to promote governance that truly served the needs of his people.

He noted that Oba Idowu Basibo’s wisdom and leadership left a lasting mark on those around him, particularly his peers in Egbe Bobakeye, his age group.

Reflecting on the late monarch’s contributions, Tinubu highlighted his role as an adviser whose guidance was valued by leaders across different levels of government.

He assured that the legacy of Oba Idowu Basibo would continue to inspire future generations in Remoland and beyond.

“As the monarch goes to his eternal home, I am confident that his legacy will remain a beacon for generations to come. His respect, wisdom, and invaluable counsel will be deeply missed,” the President said.

Tinubu offered prayers for the late Oba’s soul, asking for divine comfort for his family, the Iperu-Remo community, and the entire people of Ogun State.
