The Vice-Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan has congratulated Professor Abass Aderemi Adedibu over his new appointment as a Council Member, American University of Nigeria (AUN) by the founder of the University and former Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alh. Atiku Abubakar, GCON.

The University Chief Executive according to a release made available by the University’s Media and Public Relations Officer, ‘Wale Adeoye described Professor Adedibu’s appointment as putting a right peg, in a right hole, as Professor Adedibu embodies wisdom and his trajectory shows him as a golden fish that has no hiding place. “I am happy to state that the appointment of Professor Adedibu would allow him further contribute meaningfully to the development of the private university. On behalf of the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Council, Emeritus Prof. Ayoade Ogunkunle, esteemed Council Members, Management, Senate, Staff and Students of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, I extend our warm congratulations to our Council Member-at-Large, Prof. Abass Aderemi Adedibu over this appointment. It is our prayer to God Almighty to continually shield and bless you with sound health and wellness as he embarks on this new assignment”, stated the renowned Economist.

Professor Abass Aderemi Adedibu, a rare and exceptional specie that has outstandingly shown that he is an ivory tower, born with the capacity to serve humanity, was born in Ibadan to Late High Chief Alhaji Lamidi Akanji Ariyibi Adedibu, the Garrison Commander of Nigerian politics and Alhaji Misitura Aduke Ajitoni Adedibu. He had his Elementary School at Children’s House School, Ibara, Abeokuta, Ogun State and Secondary School at Ibadan Grammar School, Ibadan, Oyo State. Not satisfied with this, he proceeded to Indiana in United States of America to further his studies where he had his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Mathematics with honours at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis Indiana and Masters of Science in Educational Psychology at Indiana University Bloomington Indiana, Doctorate degree in Religious Education 1980 and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Chemistry Education at Indian Christian University, Indianapolis Indiana 1981 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Administration at in 2009. He was granted the State of Indiana Teacher’s licence in Chemistry, Mathematics Biology with a minor in Psychology respectfully.

The Ibadan-born Chemist has served Nigeria at different levels and capacities among which are his services as Registrar, Dean, Physical Science & Applied Science, Head of Chemistry Department

at Federal College of Education, Kontagora Niger State 1982/1983; Federal College of Education, Obudu, Cross River State, triple appointment (Pioneering Registrar, Dean, Physical Science & Applied Science, Head of Chemistry Department) 1983 to 1993; Federal Ministry Of Education as Deputy Director, University Education Division 1993 to 2002; National Coordinator for JETS and SMASE/Director Technology & Science Education Federal Ministry Of Education Abuja. Prof. Adedibu further served as Governing Council Chairman and members representing the Federal Ministry Of Education Abuja in the following Tertiary Institutions: Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, Sokoto State; Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State; Federal College of Education Katsina, Katsina State; Federal Polytechnic Okó Anambra State; Federal Polytechnic Ilaro Ogun State; Federal Polytechnic Mubi Adamawa State; Federal College of Education (Technical) Bichi; Kano State Petroleum Training Institute, Effurum Warri, Delta State; University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State and Emmanuel Alayande University of Education Oyo where he is currently serving as a Council Member-at-Large.

The America-trained-Chemist belongs to many Associations such as Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN), Fellow, Mathematical Association of Nigeria (FMAN), Fellow,

Society Of Education Administrator (FSOEA), Fellow, Abuja International Academy (FAIA) and Fellow, Professional Educational Administrator (FPEA).
