The Oyo State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Professor Dahud Kehinde Sangodoyin, has distributed financial support and outreach palliatives to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across multiple local government areas in Oyo State.
The outreach event targeted vulnerable groups in the disability community, drawing representatives from various regions to ease economic burdens and foster societal inclusion.
The cash gifts were presented to carefully selected beneficiaries drawn from all the 11 local government areas in Ibadan under the platform of a non-political association known as the PWD Sangodoyin Support Group.
Speaking during the distribution exercise, the group convener, Honorable Wasiu Nurudeen, popularly known as Oba-Aro, described Professor Sangodoyin as a compassionate and generous leader who has consistently demonstrated love and support for persons with disabilities.
According to him, Professor Sangodoyin has always remained committed to putting smiles on the faces of vulnerable people in society, especially members of the disability community.
He thereafter distributed the cash gifts to beneficiaries present at the event amid cheers and excitement.
Some of the beneficiaries, including Pastor Francis Akande from Ibadan North Local Government, Mr. Olakunle Ajetunmobi from Ona-Ara Local Government, and Alhaji Mutiat Olalekan from Akinyele Local Government, expressed gratitude to Professor Sangodoyin for the kind gesture.
They also commended the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his unwavering support and inclusion of persons with disabilities in governance and welfare programs.
The beneficiaries offered prayers for both Professor Sangodoyin and Governor Makinde, asking God to continue to strengthen and bless them for their support towards the welfare of PWDs in the state.
They further declared their support for the governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Hon. Bimbo Adekanbi, stating that they believe he would continue the developmental strides and people-oriented leadership style of Governor Makinde if elected.
The group also pledged to mobilize massive support for the APM ahead of the 2027 general elections, promising to deliver over two million votes for the party.
The event ended on a joyful note as beneficiaries returned to their various homes with smiles and appreciation for the gesture extended to them.
