Global citizen and chieftain of the Social Democratic Party, Engineer Oluseyi Makinde has been speaking about why he is into philanthropy.
According to the kind-hearted professional, people should see his gestures of giving back to the Nigerian society that he adopted over the years beyond politics.
He gave these submissions at the commissioning of a water borehole project he recently donated to Araromi Eyin Ibadan Grammar School area of Ibadan South East local government of Oyo State at the weekend.
He explained that his philanthropic works predates his participation in active politics and his contribution to advance the course of humanity extends beyond Oyo State where he plays active role in politics but to give back to the society he belongs to.
Engr Makinde reiterated that “this is not about politics and this is not even the time to start electioneering campaign but since I lost at the 2015 governorship election in Oyo state, I have not stopped using my hard earned money to better the lot of the downtrodden and the society and I promise that I will not stop doing what I believe in.”
In his welcome address, the chairman of the community Alhaji L. A. Adegoke thanked the donor for the kind gesture as the community had been in dire need of pipe borne water for several years.
In his address, the chairman of the occasion and the Chief Executive of Sahara Engineer, Engr Lere Adigun thanked the donor for his undying spirit of giving back to the society.
