An Osun State Magistrate court sitting in Ifetedo has arraigned one Moshood Oladapo, 19, over alleged attempt to rape and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Monday Ojiezele, told the court that the accused committed the offence on April 5, 2017 at 1:00 a.m at Ayeso, in Ifetedo, Ife South Local Government of Osun.
Ojiezele said that the accused entered the house of one Tosin Sunday and attempted to rape her.
He added that the accused also entered the house of one Bose Adelakun and stole the sum of N10,000 from her.
According to him, the offence was contrary to and punishable under sections 359 and 412 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol 11, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The accused, who was not legally represented, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of attempted rape and stealing leveled against him.
Magistrate Dorcas Ajiboye granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
Ajiboye added that the surety must swear to affidavit of means and be a family member.
She adjourned the case to May 3, 2017.
