Former Super Eagles striker, Victor Agali has advised Super Eagles star, Kelechi Iheanacho to move away from his English Premier League side, Manchester City ahead of next season so as to get himself regular football action.
Agali, who is now AS Racines of Lagos coach, said Iheanacho stands to gain more if his proposed move to Borussia Dortmund in a player plus cash deal materialized.
He added that it is very imperative for the 2013 U17 world cup winner to be playing and that the Bundesliga experience with Borussia Dortmund will aid Iheanachor’s development with less pressure and a number of youngsters which ultimately will help the career of the Nigerian youngster.
“Kelechi is a young player and for his career, it is important that he plays every week and for now he has not been playing regularly at Manchester city and Borussia Dortmund is also a big club talking about champions league and Bundesliga and well known for having young players. So I believe it will help his football because the pressure is less in Borussia Dortmund unlike Manchester city,” Agali said.
The Nigerian International has been a bit part player this season under Pep Guardiola and has moved down the pecking order following the signing of Gabriel Jesus in January. And with the race to qualify for the World Cup 2018 heats up, he is an integral part of Rohr’s team and needs to be match fit.
