An Islamic cleric, Sheik Maroof Ishola has described death as the only inevitable thing in life, admonishing Nigerians to always be conscious of end times.
Speaking at the third day Fidau prayer of the mother of Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state, Alhaja Saratu Aregbesola on Thursday, Ishola who is also the Mufasir of Osogboland stressed the need for people to move closer to God and prioritize good deeds in life, as it is the panacea to eternal rest in paradise.
At the Fidau prayer dignitaries from all walks of life thronged Ilesa, the country home of Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
Personalities like the National Leaders of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief AbdulKareen Adebisi Akande, Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuff, Minister for Communications, Adebayo Shittu, Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Muhammed, Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole personally present.
Others in attendance were: Former Osun state Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former Osun Military Governor, Colonel Theophillus Bamigboye. Former Minister for state for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, Senator Ganiyu Solomon, Senator Sola Adeyeye, members from state and national assemblies, Speaker Osun House of Assembly, Hon. Najeem Salam, Secretary to the Osun state Government, Moshood Adeoti, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, members of the state Executives Council.
The traditional rulers were led by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi while Muslim clerics were led by the President, Osun League of Imams and Alfas, Sheik Musa Animasaun.
The occasion also witnessed the presence of the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN), captains of industry, politicians among other dignitaries.
The remains of late Saratu Aregbesola who died in the early hours of Tuesday at 84-year in her residence, was buried on Thursday amidst tributes and condolences from all quarters as many described the deceased as a rare mother.
Aregbesola in his vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to all and sundry most especially the religious leaders for being part of the funeral activities since his mother died.
The governor described the death of his mother as an evidence that allmortal shall taste death.
Aregbesola, whose eldest son, Kabir Aregbesola spoke on his behalf, described the exit of Alhaja Saratu Aregbesola as a significant departure in the Aregbesola’s dynasty.
He prayed God to repose her soul and grant her the best place in her new state.
