Lovers and well wishers of the former Apola King of Juju Music, Reverend Idowu Animasawun are presently planning to celebrate him as he clocks the enviable age of 80.
Agba Akin Olubadan of Ibadanland and Cultural Ambassador of the National Museum, Ile-Ife, Oloye Lekan Alabi who is the Chairman of the Birthday Planning Committee informed Parrot Xtra that the birthday celebration will run between 16th February to 23rd February, 2018.
As part of the publicity/sensitization of the celebration of the 80th birthday of the icon of Juju music, who embraced evangelism over 30 years ago, the planning committee recently paid a courtesy visit to the management of the Ogun State Television (OGTV) in Abeokuta.
The Chairman in his words said the celebration will take place at the celebrant’s missionary headquarter located in Badeku, Ona Ara Local Government Area, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
He also informed PMParrot that his association with the Celebrant started a relationship in 1974, when he was the entertainment page Editor of the popular Sunday Sketch Newspaper.
Present at the event at OGTV were the chairman of the planning committee, Agba Akin Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oloye Lekan Alabi, the celebrant, Rev. Idowu Animasawun and the President of Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria (GOMAN) who is the Vice-chairman of the BPC, Evangelist (Dr.) Funmi Aragbaye.
