All is set for the Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola to commission the reconstructed Workers Drive, formerly known as Olaiya-Odi-Olowo-Ita-Olookan road, Osogbo on Tuesday, March 6.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy in the state, Mr Adelani Baderinwa, in a press statement issued on Monday, said the commissioning would take place by 10am at the popular Olaiya junction.

The road leads to the UNESCO approved world tourist heritage, the Osun Osogbo groove.

According to Baderinwa, the road was named after the workers in the state to make their sacrifices, understanding and support for the Aregbesola’s administration indelible in the history and memory of the people of the state.

Baderinwa extolled the workers for their patients, steadfastness and rare commitment to the growth and development of the state in the face of financial turbulence that almost crippled governance in the state.

He noted that despite the mischief and lies being spread by a minute fraction of senior citizens in the state, the workers have continued to grow stronger and united for the development of the state.

According to Baderinwa, workers in the state who are being honored for the support and resilience to Aregbesola’s administration are enjoined to turnout in large number to witness the commissioning.

The commissioner also called on all stakeholders including traditional rulers, religious and community leaders, leaders of various political parties to grace the occasion.

He stated that Aregbesola would be using the occasion to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Nigeria Labour Congress, the pride Labour Movement of the country.
