Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen is in a race against time to be fit for the upcoming friendlies against Poland and Serbia, assuming he is called-up by manager, Gernot Rohr.
The former Golden Eaglets sensation missed Wolfsburg’s last match in the Bundesliga against Bayer Leverkusen, and it has come to light that he was not in the match day squad owing to a calf injury.
Osimhen did not take part in full training with the rest of the first-teamers at Wolfsburg on Tuesday and underwent an individual session with the physiotherapist instead.
Prior to his spell on the sidelines, he featured for Wolfsburg in four out of a possible five matches in the German topflight, which gave him a chance to gatecrash the Super Eagles squad for the friendlies in Europe on March 23 and 27.
Victor Osimhen made his debut for the senior national team when he came off the bench after 45 minutes in their 3-0 rout of Togo in an international friendly in Paris on June 1, 2017.
And in doing so, the Ultimate Strikers Academy product became the first Nigerian player born in 1998 to represent the three-time African champions in a match sanctioned by FIFA, aged 18 years, 5 months and 3 days.
The attacker has yet to find the net for Wolfsburg after 13 competitive matches since his debut.
