The Rauf Aregbesola-led government in Osun State has once again been commended by notable indigenes of Osogbo, the state capital for radically transforming the ancient city.

The people of the town described Governor Aregbesola’s administration as the best in the history of the state, noting that no administration surpassed what the present government has done in all aspects of life.

The commendation was given during the special prayers session organized to fortify and cleanse the newly constructed Osogbo Central Eid Praying Ground, held at the new praying ground’s premises.

At the special prayer session which is a communal Muslim fellowship, prayers were also offered for the development ‎of the city, Osun State and Nigeria at large.

Speaking at the occasion, the Ataoja of Osogboland, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, and Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Chief Khamis Olatunde Badmus, commended the Aregbesola’s government.

Oba Olanipekun hailed Governor Aregbesola’s commitment to the development of the city and the entire state, saying his administration has given Osogbo the required look that befits the state capital.

The traditional ruler noted that the Aregbesola’s administration has redefined the history of the town through his socioeconomic and infrastructural developments that had given the town a modern face-lift.

He praised the Governor for prioritizing the welfare of the people of the city, a move which he said has given Osogbo ample opportunity to compete favourably with her counterparts in the country.

The royal father appealed to the indigenes of Osogbo to remain united and build a formidable front that will further hasten the city’s development.

Oba Olanipekun noted that the time has come for the people of Osogbo, particularly the well-to-do among them, to close their ranks and work in unison to promote and develop the city.

He tasked the illustrious sons and daughters of Osogbo to be their brother’s keepers and rally round one another with a view to developing the city in order to make it a worthy state capital.

Oba Olanipekun however described the prayer session as remarkable and capable of strengthening the unity, cohesion and harmony between and among the Muslim Ummah in the city and Osun in general.

Corroborating similar gesture, the Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Chief Khamis Olatunde Badmus, said the present administration has not only performed excellently well, but changed the face of the town to modern look in all ramifications.

Badmus posited that Aregbesola’s administration has made Osogbo and her people proud with the numerous developmental projects being enjoyed by the people of Osogbo in every nook and cranny of the city.

He further described the huge development being witnessed in the state, particularly in the state capital, as a testimony to Governor Aregbesola’s unprecedented commitment to good governance.

The Muslim leader added, “it is crystal clear that the coming of Governor Aregbesola to government is not by accident as being seen in the pace of development the state has witnessed in all aspects of life.

Chief Badmus, however, debunked the insinuation that a section of the indigenes of the town were fighting, saying there is nothing as such.

He warned those peddling falsehood to desist from the heinous act as the people of the town always see themselves as brothers and sisters.

In his remarks the Governor of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, expressed gratitude to the people of the town, particularly the Muslim Ummah for being supportive of his administration.

He described the construction of the new Eid Praying Ground as a welcome development to advance Islam and in propagating the religion.

Governor Aregbesola also enjoined Muslims to maintain peaceful disposition and commodious relationship with their neighbours, arguing that a peaceful environment is the first condition of development and prosperity.

Governor Aregbesola implored Osogbo Muslim Community to take seriously the planting of trees in the new praying ground, assuring his personal support for the gesture.
