The reconciliation efforts put in place by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has recorded more than 75 per cent success.

The Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi disclosed this while speaking with journalists shortly after a closed door meeting organised by the party with leaders and elders of the party from all the seven geo political zones in the State.

Governor Ajimobi noted that reconciliation efforts are yielding positive results as some of the aggrieved members with genuine reason of being aggrieved are returning to the party.

The Governor hinted that in all human endeavour, there must be time for disagreement and rancour but room must be given for reconciliation and all must avoid ‘winner takes it all’ in the party.

He added that going by the number of leaders that attended the meeting, it was clear that peace has returned to the party.

He used the opportunity to assure members of the public that APC is still as strong as ever, adding that the little misunderstanding that occurred recently did not in any way scatter the party.

Other leaders that attended the enlarged leaders and elders meeting included the deputy Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Moses Adeyemo, former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao Akala, Speaker House of Assembly, Hon. Olagunju Ojo and a former Deputy governor to former Governor Lamidi Adeshina, Otunba Iyiola Oladokun.

Others were members of the Federal House of Representatives including Hon. Saheed Fijabi representing Ibadan South West/North West, Hon. Segun Odebunmi representing Ogo Oluwa/Surulere, Hon. Dada Awoleye representing Ibadan North, Hon. Gbenga Ayoade representing Ibarapa North/Ibarapa Central and Hon. Akeem Adeyemi representing Oyo East, Oyo West, Afijio and Atiba Federal constituency as well as members of the State’s House of Assembly.
