Reports making the rounds that Procter and Gamble’s factory in Ogun State is being shut down has been denied by the management of the company.
The Managing Director of the company, Mr. Adil Farhat, made the clarification, during an interview with news men, after a visit to the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, in his Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta office.
According to him “rather than closing down, we are committed to investing more in the state”, adding that Ogun is conducive for business to thrive.
Responding, the governor said he had invited the management, to enquire about the authenticity of the alleged decision of the company, describing the news as cheering.
He said the expansion of the business concern, would be of benefit, not only to Ogun State but also Nigeria.
Amosun said, despite the challenges, the state and Nigeria remain profitable platforms for growth of investment.
In a related development, the management of the International Breweries Plc, led by its Managing Director, Ms. Annabel Degroot, was also at the Governor’s office to announce the forthcoming official commissioning of its production plant, along the Lagos/Sagamu interchange, next month.
Also, Fresh FM, a radio station, owned by renowned juju gospel musician, Mr. Yinka Ayefele, will begin transmission in the state soon.
Ayefele, who revealed this also to news men at the governor’s office after visiting the governor, added that the station has been issued a licence to operate in the state.
