Aruna Moves Two Steps Up In Latest ITTF Ranking

Nigeria table tennis star, Quadri Aruna has moved up two steps from 20th to 18th in the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) ranking released for the month of August.

The feat sees Aruna become the first Nigerian and the second African to make the top 18 in the monthly ranking of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).

His African rival, Omar Assar dropped two placed in the ranking following his inactiveness.

Assar who will not be part of the 2018 ITTF Challenge Nigeria Open dropped from 21 to 23 in the latest ranking.

Fan Zhendong retains his No.1 spot for the month of August amassing a total of 17,001 points while China’s Xu Xin is second with a total of 15,385.

Boll Timo is third with 15,205 points, Lin Gaoyan is fourth 15,189 while Ovtcharov Dimitrij completes the top five with 14, 915.

Harimito Tomakazu is sixth with 13,584 points, Ma Long is seventh with 13,500, Lee Sangsu from Korea occupy eight place with 13,374 points while Calderano Hugo and Wong Chung Ting completes the top ten list with 13,355 and 13305 points respectively.
