Plans have been concluded for the new governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi to tour the 16 local government areas of his state.
This was confirmed in a statement from the office of the governor’s spokesman, Yinka Oyebode on Sunday.
The state government also debunked the rumours in circulation that it has dissolved the existing local government structures as a result of the recent court rulings delivered in favour of Governor Kayode Fayemi and therefore called on the Ekiti public to regard such information as false and blatant lies and evil imagination of the opposition in the State.
The statement equally urged “the Ekiti public not to be easily dissuaded, given or yield to this misleading report and mere fabrication of those whose main intent is to cause disaffection and trouble the peace already being enjoyed by the current government since its assumption of Office in the State.
Yinka Oyebode also advised “the general public to disregard it in its entirety as it does not represent the true position of things regarding the Local Government Councils in Ekiti State.
“Government considers it necessary to state emphatically that it has not taken any such action. Members of the public would be duly communicated through appropriate channels on government’s decisions on the local government councils as well as other State matters at the appropriate time”, Oyebode explained.
In a similar Press Release sent to PMParrot in Ado Ekiti on Sunday afternoon by Oyebode, he stated that: “Governor Kayode Fayemi, the Executive Governor of Ekiti State is scheduled to begin the tour of all the 16 Local Government Areas on Monday November 5th, 2018 to all the project sites and infrastructural facilities across the State to know their current state and conditions.
The tour according to him is also to enable Mr. Governor conduct an on-the-spot assessment of all on-going and abandoned projects in all the 16 local government areas of the State”.
Oyebode, however, revealed that the Governor will be accompanied on the week-long tour by top government functionaries and Heads/Supervisors of the relevant projects. The project tour is a follow up to two weeks of briefings by Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government”, he concluded.
