Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi has called on aggrieved parties in the crisis rocking Isaba Chieftaincy stool to bury the hatchet and toe the path of peace.

Chief Egbeyemi gave the charge while addressing Isaba traditional chiefs and community leaders from Ikole Local Government at a peace meeting held in his office.

He said the administration of Dr. Kayode Fayemi desired that peace reigns in Egbeoba land in particular and all other parts of the State in general during its tenure since sustainable development could only thrive in a peaceful environment.

Otunba Egbeyemi urged the Odofin of Isaba, Chief Paul Oye to settle with his family and abide by the resolution of the intervention meeting of the traditional council led by the Elekole of Ikole, Oba Ajibade Fasiku to brooker peace in the town.

The Baba Egbe Omo Isaba, Otunba Ben Oguntuase who had earlier disclosed that the traditional leaders in Ikole-Ekiti had intervened in the matter, pleaded that the issue of the number of kingmakers in the town be resolved and that the other chiefs who had been denied their entitlements be settled without delay.

In his remark, the Elekole of Ikole Ekiti, Oba Ajibade Fasiku, who commended the State Government for its quick intervention in settling the crisis rocking the chieftancy stool of Isaba Ekiti, appreciated the Deputy Governor for applying the principle of fair hearing in the matter.

The Monarch explained that Ekiti State chieftaincy law and declaration made provision for six kingmakers and the provision would have to be respected by all. He added that the chiefs that failed to perform their responsibilities would have no entitlements to claim declaring that such unclaimed entitlements would be used to develop the town.

The Odofin of Isaba, Chief Paul Oye, however promised to settle amicably with his family, perform all tradition rites expected of him and abide by both decisions of the traditional council and government.
