The administration of Governor Kayode Fayemi in Ekiti state has expressed its readiness to partner with foreign donors, corporate organizations and individuals that are ready to collaborate with it to work out practicable strategies on the economic development of the state.
The state commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Mr. Dapo Kolawole made the statement at an interractive forum which involved World Bank officials on the socio-economic development of the state in Ado-Ekiti.
Mr. Kolawole, who noted that the World Bank has ceased having serious relationship with the state after the first tenure of Dr. Fayemi,added that the government will intensify efforts at renewing a robust working partnership with the World Ban with the aim of utilizing the relationship for the development of Ekiti State.
He reiterated the deep commitment of the administration to transparent, prudent financial management, and good governance with the assurance that all projects that would be executed will be people oriented.
The co-ordinator of the programme, Professor Bolaji Aluko, while urging the participants at the forum to make positive contributions solicited the people’s support for Governor Fayemi’s administration in its efforts to move the state forward.
In a related development, the commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Mr. Dapo Kolawole has charged the people of the state to promptly remit taxes and other dues into the coffers of government as this would go a long way to assist the state government in delivering the dividends of democracy as promised.
Mr Kolawole said Fayemi Administration believes in good governance and has the political will to increase the IGR of the state.
