The Minority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige has sympathized with the Nigerian Police, Oyo State command over the gruesome murder of one of its men, Corporal Peter Akingbade on Thursday 15th November, 2018 by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers.

Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige expressed his sympathy when he paid a condolence visit to the Sanyo Divisional Police Station, Ibadan where the deceased was serving until he met his untimely death in the hands of the yet to be identified suspects that were riding a motorcycle who shot him at a checkpoint at Adeyemo along Ibadan Grammar School road where Police officers were conducting ‘stop and search’.

Hon. Ademola Ige who is the candidate for African Democratic Congress (ADC) for State House of Assembly election in Ibadan South East Constituency II was accompanied to the station by a community Leader and ADC Chieftain in Ibadan South East Local Government, Pa Solomon Ayansina and some members of Adeyemo Youth Forum, Organization for Better Nigeria (OBN).

Hon. Ige who recalled that since he became a lawmaker in 2015, he has moved and sponsored motions that have to do with security of lives in the State, however, appealed to the State government to do more to reinforce all the security outfits in the State so that their personnel would be able to combat crime as the festive period approaches.

While praying God to grant the family of the slain officer the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, Hon. Ige enjoined the Police not to leave any stone unturned in ensuring that the perpetrators of this dastardly act are arrested and brought to book.

Hon. Ademola Ige used the visit to inspect the damaged portion of the road in front of Molete Baptist Church, Idi Odo Challenge, Ibadan and another one under the Molete fly over and called on the agency that is responsible for rehabilitation of the road, Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA) to come and repair these roads in order to forestall any avoidable accident like the one that happened in 2014 under the Molete bridge.

Hon. Ademola Ige also congratulated Alhaji Tijani Alao and Mrs Opeyemi Olayiwola on their installation as Babaloja and Mamaloja of Odo Oba market which was done during the inauguration of Odo Oba market as one of the 20 markets in Ibadan South East Local government at Mapo hall recently.

He called on the traders to beware of some politicians that are requesting for the permanent voters’ card from the traders under the guise of giving them loan, stressing that the plan of these politicians is to collect the PVCs and clone them so that the owners would not be able to vote during the forthcoming general elections.

Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige equally congratulated Muslim faithful in Oyo State on the occasion of this year’s Eid-il-Maulud celebration and enjoined them to imbibe the teaching of Prophet Muhammad which centred on piety, love, peaceful co-existence and tolerance.
