Former governor of Oyo State and the gubernatorial candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP), in next year’s general election, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala has unveiled his 13-point agenda.

Akala unveiled the points during the inauguration of Akala-Olaiya Campaign Organization at Jogor Event Centre, Ibadan on Tuesday.

The former governor expressed that he answered a clarion call to contest the gubernatorial election under ADP to repeat the feats recorded during his tenure as governor when he brought succour, humane posture, robust economic activities, and even infrastructural developments to the state.

He posited that to hold a political office has nothing to do with age, rather, it is based on mental capacity, experience, maturity, good vision and mission, sensitiveness, credibility and popular acceptability of the candidate.

Alao Akala maintained that if he eventually emerges winner at the gubernatorial poll in 2019, he would declare state of emergency on both education and health sectors.

He added that the plan has been put in place to rescue all state owned institutions and restore their glories in the comity of educational institutions in the country.

Otunba Christopher Alao-Akala used the opportunity to warn some officials of the state’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), who have allegedly connived with the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) to disenfranchised thousands of qualified voters across the state and weakening  the leading candidates in their strongholds by engaging in state wide illegal relocation of voters.

He called on INEC Chairman, Professor Mamood Yakubu and constituted security agencies to put a stop to what he described as “advanced rigging method”.

While announcing Chief Wale Owu as Director General Akala/Olaiya Campaign Organization, promised to embark on violence free electioneering campaign.

He said “regardless of the sinister moves of the other parties, our campaign shall be issue-based, violence free and intellectually stimulating, resting on the renewed 13-point agenda drawn from our party’s hallmark, clothed with peace and tranquility.”

Former Governor Akala urged all the campaign committee members to come out with polished strategies and highest commitment to dislodge the ruling APC in Oyo State.

Present at the event included Hon. Temitope Olatoye Sugar, Dr. Fola Akinosun and many ADP candidates in the fast approaching election as well as members of the executives of the party across the 33 local government areas if the state.
