OGTV’s New Digital Studio To Be Commissioned Soon

The world class OGTV digital studio being put in  place by the Ogun State Government at the State Television, Ajebo road, Abeokuta will be ready for commissioning by May, 2019.

The Deputy General Manager, Programme Services, Mr. Festus Kehinde, disclosed  this while taking his turn to highlight the achievements of the State Television during the on-going budget performance appraisal held at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, pointing out that the ultra modern studio when operational would place the station as the best in the sub-Sahara African region.

The new studio which would house new digital equipment, would serve as a catalyst towards the achievement of the digitization policy in meeting up with international standards  in the broadcasting industry.

Kehinde added that the station had stepped up plans towards sustaining transmission on DSTV AND GOTV launched last year, while equally running a parallel terrestial transmission in the period under review.

He sought for the immediate replacement of the station’s transmission and production equipment for ease in editing and production process.

In the same vein, the Ag General Manager of OGBC, Mr Diji Akinhanmi said the station had deployed the needed human and financial resources for the effective dissemination of credible, reliable and dependable information beyond the boundaries of the State.

He explained that all efforts were being made to continue to reel out quality programmes for the audience, stressing the need for the procurement of another 10KW second channel, 100KVA generating set, 10kVA inverter, Outside Broadcasting Van, two digital studio, modern digital studio equipment in a bid to compete favourably in the nation’s competitive broadcasting industry.

In a related development, the Permanent Secretary, State Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Engr. Jonathan Onajobi called for the enactment of an enabling law to aid the smooth collection of newly initiated revenue items on registration of trade and artisan groups.

Onajobi who also presented the performance of Ogun State Agricultural and Multipurpose Credit Agency (OSAMCA), and the State Market Development Board, said this while talking his turn to present the 2019 performance of his agency. He sought for accessible enforcement support team for regular revenue collection exercise to widen the financial base of the State.

Also, the General Manager, State Signage and Advertising Agency, Mr Akin Bandele said it has successful declustered unserviceable billboards along Lagos/Ibadan expressway towards restoring sanity in the outdoor advertising services in the State.

Bandele added that policies were being formulated towards ensuring culture of transparency, integrity and professionalism through prudent management of resources to increase the revenue drive of the agency.
