Globacom, one of Nigeria’s largest telecommunications companies has described Nigerian workers as the bedrock and stabilising factor on which the country’s economic growth and development rest.
Globacom said this in a statement it issued to commemorate this year’s edition of Workers Day. The telecommunications company paid tribute to the resilience of Nigeria’s workforce, even as the company implored the workers to maintain the virtues of diligence and excellence that the nation’s workers are reputed for.
The company said Nigerian workers have shown commendable dedication in spite of the daunting challenges facing the nation and its people.
“The progress that Nigeria has recorded in different sectors of the economy over the years would not have been possible without the sacrifice, commitment and resourcefulness of the country’s workers. They remain the pillar Nigeria’s economy”, the telecom company said.
Globacom advised Nigerian workers to keep up the spirit of dedication and strive for more efficiency and productivity.
In Nigeria as many other countries across the world, the first day of May is known as May Day, and is used to celebrate workers.
