The Ekiti State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Foluso Daramola has directed that all public and private nursery, primary and secondary schools across the state should partake in the 2018/2019 Annual School Census (ASC) in the State.

The Commissioner who restated this directive while interacting with newsmen in Ado-Ekiti explained that the School Census is essentially for data collection and analysis for policy formulation and educational planning and development and is never to generate revenue as being speculated in some quarters.

The Programme which was scheduled to commence on Thursday 27th of June, 2019 at half past eight in the morning added that all schools Heads or Registrars are expected to be in attendance to supply required information about their schools.

According to the Commissioner, the programme is for both Public and Private Schools and that the Proprietors of both registered and yet-to-register private schools operating in the State should equally attend the programme at the designated centres fixed by Areas Education Officer in each of the Local Government Areas.
