The Management of an Ibadan, Oyo State based company, Taytop Global Limited has handed over one Mr Ahmed Sonya, a travelling agent, and one of its employees, Mr Clifford Ezenwa to law enforcement officers.
Clifford in particular was recently relieved of his position as the Human Resource Manager of the company over the discovery that both men were involved in swindling the company of huge amount of money.
According to Mr Yemi Smith, the spokesman of the company, “Mr Clifford, the sacked HR manager who introduced the travelling agent, Mr Ahmed to the company in 2014 to handle all travelling arrangements of staffs of the company, which included but not limited to scheduling visa appointments at various embassies, purchasing flight tickets, booking conferences, and also booking hotels. These services have been rendered without hitch and of course he was paid for his services”.
The company’s spokesman added that “we didn’t suspect any monetary dealings between the travelling agent and the former HR manager that introduced him to us, until the managing consultant and the acting Chief Operating Officer, Mr Ayodeji Adebayo, promised to sue the company over image damage and discomfort that he experienced at the point of entry to the United States of America in January 2019.
“This was because the receipt of the payment he made for the conference Mr Ayodeji was supposed to attend issued by the company according to border control at the point of entry in the US was fictitious.
“Mr Ayodeji was surprised, overwhelmed and confused, he was supposed to attend a conference, to represent the company the second time, meet with strategic partners and conclude business partnership over the project we had with the government in the area of Information Technology, particularly Internet of Things”.
The spokesman continued “we were all shocked over this and we promised Mr Ayodeji that the management would get to the root of the matter.
“The past eight months have been hectic because a new auditing firm was engaged to audit the account of the company, a private investigator was also engaged, all efforts to invite the travelling agent proved abortive, for he had absconded.
“The private investigator was able to locate him sometime in August and after being interrogated, he finally confessed that he was being aided and abated by the then company’s HR manager, Mr Clifford, and that they have been sharing the proceeds of any job given to him by the company. Both men have since been handed over to the appropriate authority that handles such malicious and inhumane matters”.
The spokesman then seized the opportunity to inform the general public that Mr Clifford Ezenwa is no more an employee of Taytop Global Limited adding that “the general public should be aware of this, henceforth, he doesn’t represent our company in any way or whatsoever. Also we deeply apologize to Mr Ayodeji Adebayo for the embarrassment this has caused him and we promise to do anything to make amends.
When PMParrot spoke with Mr Ayodeji over the matter, he reiterated that he was glad that the culprits have been apprehended, and that he always knew the HR Manager was not a man of integrity.
Submitted Mr Ayodeji “I started my career with the company in 2005 where I worked for two years before leaving. I now work for Tecruach Limited, I was approached later by the management of the company in 2012 to be the managing consultant, and I agreed”, he said.
He also volunteered that he has decided to quit the company as its Acting Chief Operating Officer.
“I felt it was a good move when they approached me to become their Ag COO and I accepted. Now, I know better, I have decided to keep away for good.”
