
All roads led to one of Nigeria’s entertainment hotspots, The Exellessor, Basorun in Ibadan, Oyo State on May 5th, 2025 when vibrant media group, ParrotXtra Network staged its 20th anniversary.
The event was also used to celebrate the 60th birthday of Ambassador Olayinka Agboola, the media group’s founder, kicked off after the opening prayer was said by Lady Evangelist Lucy Adetunji.
Then, it was the turn of the chairman of the event, Ambassador Yemi Farounbi to deliver his welcome speech. While speaking, the veteran broadcaster saluted Agboola for being focused and steadfast in the past 20 years. He urged him not rest on his oars in his quest to conquer more grounds in the media industry.

A lecture, titled, ‘Southwest: Critical Issues To Shape The Future’ was delivered by the Director General, Development Agenda For Western Nigeria, DAWN Commission, Dr Seye Oyeleye who was represented by Prince Adetayo Adedoyin.
After the lecture, guests on the high table including DCP Biodun Onuoha of the Oyo State Police Command, Commander Rosemary Alo, the Oyo State Commander of FRSC, High Chief (Dr) Lekan Alabi and Alagba Ayo Akinyemi and others praised the organisers of the event.
Goodwill messages had earlier been sent in by friends of the media group in the diaspora including Dr Dayo Olomu, Pastor Folami Adekusibe, Dr Tunji Adeosun, Engineer Oladipo Adetunji, Dr Ayobami Wasiu Lam-Adesina, Olabiyi Obisesan and others.
The official presentation of the media organisation’s compendium was done by a prominent political figure, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu. She was assisted by Barrister Akeem Aponmade, Godwin Mekwuye of Vivid Imagination, Sir (Arc) Muyiwa Ige, Lady Bose Afolabi-Ajayi, Chief Akinyele Oladeji, Lady Yomi Ladigbolu, Mr Babatunde Onifade, Bishop (Dr) Ademola Moradeyo, Chief Gani Kayode Balogun, Hon Rahman Adepoju, members of Lagelu Grammar School Old Boys Association led by Distinguished Lagelite Bolanle Adeyemi and others.
Friends of Parrots on Whatsapp were specially recognised at the event too.
Guests were later entertained by iconic Nigerian musician, Dr Adewale Ayuba.
During the reception, guests joined Ambassador Olayinka Agboola to cut his birthday cake. The guests included Dele Odule, Alagba Olayinka Agboola, Lion Muyiwa Ojo, Mogaji Isiaka Abiola Olagunju, Professor Femi Adefisan, Prof Jide Owoeye of Lead City University, Chief Sunday Gbenjo, Dr Sikiru Adekola Adebayo, Pastor Adewale Adepoju, Mrs Nihinlolawa Olapade, Dr Seun Awodele, Mr Babatunde Olawuwo, Tunde Onakoya, Alhaji Semiu Okanlawon, Semiu Adenekan (DJ Semight), Pastor Bisi Oladele, the Chairman of SWEGOP, Mr Gbenga Olunloyo, Debo Adegbola and others.
Basorun Adegboyega Lawal led others including Seyi Akerele and Taiwo Obama to direct the events packaged by Clement Ige’s CEEDEE Resources and DJ Semight’s Melody Trades & Events.
