A corps member, Faith Onyiwara who was abducted around Ilamija, in the Epe Area of Lagos State has been rescued by the state’s Police Command.
A statement by the commands Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) said that the Commissioner of Police Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu coordinated the rescue operation of the Corps member on Tuesday. He added that “no ransom was paid”
The PPRO said that Faith was rescued at about 2.20am Tuesday in a swamp forest around Ilamija Nla in Epe after a gun battle.
According to reports, the youth corps member was abducted on her way to attend her CDS meeting.
The abductors had demanded a ransom of fifty million naira but later reduced it to four hundred thousand naira.
It was gathered that the victim has been taken to hospital for medical attention due to the shock and trauma she experienced but authorities say she is in stable condition.
However, the kidnappers ring leader Moses Ofeye wasn’t so lucky as he was arrested with gun wounds.
