Amotekun: OPC Leader Replies Miyetti Allah, Says No Cause To Fear

A leader of the Odu’a People’s Congress (OPC) in Ekiti State, Chief Ogunojo Ogundare Aduloju has expressed his displeasure over the recent statement made by the body of Fulani herdsmen in the country called Miyetti Allah, instructing the Federal Government not to allow the Western Nigeria Security outfit code named Amotekun to stand.

Aduloju who is the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Otunba Gani Adams faction of the Odu’a People’s Congress made the declaration in Ado-Ekiti, during the week while answering questions from Parrot Xtra/PMParrotNG.com

The OPC strongman explained that Southwest leaders saw a reason the security outfit should be inaugurated and a solidarity rally be held by Yoruba indigenes to affirm the outfit.

In his words, “The Solidarity Rally is for the Yoruba race. It is for the absolute security of the Yoruba race. Yoruba people don’t want to be caught napping. Yoruba people don’t want to die like chicken.”

Reacting to the statement made by Miyetti Allah, Mr Aduloju said: “The Nigerian Constitution permits free speech. Everybody has a right to talk. All we know in Yorubaland is that Amotekun has come to stay. Yoruba people cannot continue to die in silence. Yoruba people cannot continue to be kidnapped in silence. The Yoruba people cannot continue to be victimised in silence.”

Aduloju commended and appreciated the efforts of the Southwest Governors for the initiative.

“Amotekun is a security outfit with no religious sentiment. There is no religion attached to its establishment. It is a sovereign security body for the safety and security of the Yoruba nation”, he said.

“Miyetti Allah should tell Nigerians what is actually behind their fears of Amotekun and the fear of the Yoruba Nation wanting to segregate. You can imagine when there was Badoo Boys in Ikorodu in Lagos State. The Police tried their best and could not apprehend them, they called on us”.

“They are nursing fear of the unknown. Yoruba people are not going anywhere. They should not be scared about that.”

The OPC spokesperson, who advised Miyetti Allah not to entertain any fear, said, “Yoruba people have the right to give themselves adequate security of lives and property in their domain.”

He urged all landlords and agents in the state to always ask questions about tenants and to always raise the consciousness in their immediate environment on the need to be very vigilant.
