Dr Kayode Fayemi, the governor of Ekiti State has continued to receive commendations from the people of his state for faithfully executing his infrastructural development agenda.
The public commendation was given by numerous callers during a Yoruba phone-in program, “Ejire”, at the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State (BSES), commending the Governor for working his talk by running a government devoid of political sentiment and ensuring good road network and other amenities in the State.
Commissioner for Works and Transportation, Hon. Adesola Adebayo who was the Guest on the program reiterated the commitment of Fayemi to good roads, linking agriculture settlements with urban centres for effective commercial activities in the State.
Hon. Adebayo said one thousand kilometres roads, which cut across the entire state, would be constructed with the assistance of African Development Bank (AFDB) through a program called RAMP.
With the installation of an Asphalt Plant in the State, the
Commissioner assured the people of regular rehabilitation of roads as government has commenced the construction of some roads in the three Senatorial Districts in the State.
He said there would be a ring road between Iworoko and Igede to prevent passing through Ado to Irepodun area of the state.
Adebayo itemized some building projects the present administration has carried out to include renovation of Broadcasting Service of Ekiti state, Ministry of Works, State Secretariat Building, Civic Centre, House of Assembly Complex, Ekiti Kete Pavilion with the assurance that arrangements were on to build public toilets at the State Secretariat in Ado.
The Works Commissioner who called on the people to join the Ministry in monitoring the Contractors handling the projects to ensure good job, also warned the people against dumping refuse into the drains and burning of tyres on roads to preserve the roads.
The Commissioner implored them to pay their taxes regularly as government needs more fund to deliver more dividends of democracy.
