This is good news coming from Liverpool loanee, Ovie Ejaria, as he has pledged his international future to Nigeria.

The 22-year-old Reading FC midfielder now awaits clearance from FIFA to play for the Super Eagles.

He joins a growing list of footballers born in Europe to pledge allegiance to Nigeria.

Victor Moses, Alex Iwobi, Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong, Tyronne Ebuehi and Bryan Idowu are notable players who have switched allegiance to Nigeria.

“Ovie Ejaria has committed to Nigeria,” a top source in the Super Eagles said. Paperwork is already with FIFA, and Nigerian passport needs to be renewed.”

Ejaria was part of the English U-20 team that won the 2017 U-20 World Cup and was called up to the U21s in 2018.

The former Arsenal academy player had been with the Nigerian U-17 team in 2013.

Ejaria has made 32 appearances for English Championship side, Reading, this season and has scored three goals.

The PUNCH also gathered that the Nigeria Football Federation are in talks with the quartet Bukayo Saka, Tosin Adarabioyo, Ademola Lookman and Eberechi Eze to pledge their allegiance to the Eagles.
