World Boxing Champion, Tyson Fury has revealed that his next year proposed mega unification fight against the undisputed world heavyweight champions, Anthony Joshua, may not see the light of the day.
According to reports, Fury fondly called ‘Gypsy King’ by his many admirer said he is not sure that the highly-anticipated double headed fight tagged the ‘British Battle’ will happen.
Fury said although he have agreed with Joshua for the clash but there are several hurdles each heavyweight had to jump over before the bout can happen, so he couldn’t guarantee the fight will go ahead next year.
“If it’s supposed to happen and I’m not convinced it is. I never have been convinced, never ever have I ever been convinced that I will fight Anthony Joshua.
“How can I be convinced? If he’s got to fight [Kubrat] Pulev and if he’s got to fight [Oleksandr] Usyk, how can I be convinced he’s going to get through those fights without losing?’
“How can I be even confident I’m going to smash Wilder?. Wilder can be absolutely blitz me in one round, good night Vienna,” Fury said.
Speaking further, Fury, who apologised to British fans for damping their hope of seeing the much anticipated clash with his announcement, said because of many hurdles on the fight way, he can not vouch of the fight is going to happen.
“That would put a hell of a wedgie in the door. This is why I hate talking about fights that don’t exist yet.
“Can I honestly say 100 per cent this fight is going to happen? I can’t.
“But providing we both get through our next two fights, then I know it’s going to happen.” he added.
Joshua and Fury have signed contracts for their next fight, with Joshua booked to take on his IBF mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev and the Gypsy King set to face Deontay Wilder again.
