Cypriot giants, APOEL have announced the acquisition of Nigeria’s Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho.

According to the club official website, Uzoho has ended his three-year association with Spanish club Deportivo La Coruña by signing a permanent deal with APOEL, keeping him in the Island Nation until May 2023.

APOEL are Uzoho’s third club in Cyprus in the last few seasons, having previously worn the jerseys of Anorthosis Famagusta and  Omonia, on loan from Deportivo La Coruña.

His spell at Omonia was cut short after suffering a serious injury that required surgery while on international duty with the Super Eagles in a friendly with Brazil last October.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper has eight appearances under his belt in the Cypriot top-flight, Protathlima Cyta.

Nigerian strikers Michael Obiku, Patrick Ogunsoto and Benjamin Onwuachi have represented APOEL in the past.
