English Championship club, Stoke City are weighing up a move for former Nigeria’s Super Eagles skipper, Mikel Obi.
The 33-year-old former Chelsea legend, is currently a free agent after leaving Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor in March.
According to Stoke City Sentinel, Stoke City manager Michael O’Neil is keen on bringing in a holding midfielder and Mikel could be a leading contender.
West Bromich Albion, who will play in the Premier League next season following their promotion from the Championship- have also been credited with an interest in the midfielder.
Mikel was recently linked with a move to Braziian clubs Botafogo and Internacional.
A vastly experienced player with more than 350 appearances for Chelsea, he won multiple titles during his time with the Blues.
Mikel had a spell in China, before returning to sign for Middlesbrough in a short-term deal in 2019.
Mikel later linked up with Trabzonspor in Turkey.
