The Christian Legislators’ Fellowship International of the Oyo State House of Assembly has organized a Carol in celebration of this year’s Christmas celebration.
The Xmas Carol, which was attended by lawmakers, past and present including the Speaker, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, former Chairman, Hon. Olusegun Ajanaku, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola, Hon. Simon Oyeleke, Hon. S. O Oyedele and Hon. Ayo Fatokun among others.
Rev. (Mrs.) Victoria Tokunbo Oke, wife of the Founder, Christ Life Church International, Rev. Wale Oke, in her sermon, encouraged Christians to hold onto the promise of God, and to always look up to Jesus Christ, who’s birth is what the whole world is celebrating.
The preacher, while speaking on the theme, Victory by the Blood, she read from the Holy Bible, Heb. 12:14. Rev. Oke charged the people to dedicate their time, energy and resources and always have desire to work with God.
She preached for unity and love among Nigerians in order to ensure peaceful coexistence irrespective of tribe and ethnicity in the country.
While enjoining Christians to always display the spirit of love between one another, Rev. Victoria Oke appealed to them to continue to seek for the strength of God to sustain them throughout the journey of 2021 and beyond.
While corroborating the guest preacher in his remarks, the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, urged Christians to be their brothers’ keepers and always remain steadfast in prayers.
Hon Ogundoyin, who was represented by the lawmaker representing Akinyele 1, Hon. Ayotunde Fotokun appealed to Christians to at every point in time, champion a course or courses that will promote love, peace and unity of Nigeria.
The President, Christian Legislators’ Fellowship International, Oyo State chapter, Hon. Oluwafemi Oluwafowokanmi, disclosed that the carol was organized to give thanks to God for the protection and blessings from the beginning of the year 2020 till date.
He called on well-meaning Nigerians to extend kind gesture to the less privileged in the society particularly during the Xmas for them to feel the love.
The lawmaker representing Ibadan South West state constituency II, disclosed that the focus in the coming year is to increase the followership base of the chapel by propagating the gospel of Jesus Christ to all and crannies of the state Secretariat.
Highlights of the event was the rendition of Xmas congregational Carol by Christian Legislators’ Fellowship International choirs and two other invited choir groups from Oyo and Ibadan.
