EKSG To Residents: Desist From Indiscriminate Dumping Of Refuse

As the rainy season approaches, the Ekiti State Government through its Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mrs. Iyabo Fakunle Okieimen has warned residents in the State against indiscriminate dumping of refuse to forestall incidence of flooding.

The Commissioner, who gave the warning in Ado Ekiti, stressed that culprits would be made to face the wrath of the law to checkmate the unwholesome and unhygienic practice.

Fakunle Okieimen said that officials of the Ministries have been located at strategic locations across the state to arrest violators of the State Environmental laws.

She said that “as the raining season sets in, we are very ready to checkmate the unwholesome attitude as those apprehended would be made to face legal action”.

Highlighting the importance of maintaining a clean environment, Fakunle Okeimen said that a clean environment would engender healthy atmosphere and check epidemic.

She reiterated the commitment of the Kayode Fayemi-led administration to provision of clean, healthy and conducive environment for rapid development adding that no stone would be left unturned towards guaranteeing the general wellbeing of people in the State.
