When the people of Oyo State massively trooped out to vote for the present Governor of the State, Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde, they, perhaps did so because they believed he would do more to uplift standards in the pace setting state.

Of course, one of the promises made by Governor Makinde was to uplift the state and take it to the next level of development.

A practical example or demonstration of his determination to keep his promise is the remodeling of Lekan Salami Stadium Complex at Adamasingba, in Ibadan, the capital city of the state.

The Project Manager of the construction outfit handling the remodeling of the stadium, Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Limited, Engineer Femi James recently told media men that the facility will be a world class stadium after its final completion. He said it will rub shoulders with the best stadia in Nigeria and elsewhere in the world. He added that all works being done on the stadium are in compliance with FIFA specifications and international standards.

It will therefore not be out of place to congratulate Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde and the good people of Oyo State for being living witnesses to this epochal achievement of the present administration in the state.

In addition, we must congratulate the management, technical crew and players of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) and also their supporters’ club members. They are the direct beneficiaries because the main bowl of the stadium is now their home ground.

Our belief is that Governor Makinde has put in place water-tight security to protect the ultra-modern equipment and other facilities at the complex. In addition, we also assume that maintenance arrangements are in place too.

We must also use this opportunity to implore all citizens of the state to cooperate with the government to ensure the protection of the facilities at the complex. The government cannot do it alone.

It is, indeed, a new dawn in terms of infrastructural development in Oyo State.

Long live Oyo State, long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
