Everton’s manager, Rafa Benitez has singled out Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi for praises as the Toffees get prepared to welcome Burnley on Monday night.
Iwobi has scored a goal and provided two assists, which the forward attributed to the training regime that the former Real Madrid boss instituted in the club.
Benitez said he was impressed with Iwobi for helping his teammates win the Carabao Cup game on August 24 against Huddersfield.
The manager said even though the Nigerian was limping, he still stayed to help his team.
“I want to say how much I liked the character and determination of Alex Iwobi when he was hurt against Huddersfield but stayed on the pitch to help his teammates,” Benitez said on his programme notes for Monday’s visit of Burnley published on Everton’s website.
