The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti state command, CP Tunde Mobayo has reiterated the command’s readiness to maintain a peaceful atmosphere across the state during and after the much talked-about People Democratic Party (PDP) local government congress election slated for January 15th, 2022.
This was released in a statement by the spokesperson for the command, ASP Sunday Abutu during a conference held with the senior officers of the command at the state headquarter.
The CP further directed Area Commanders as well as the PMF Commander and the DPOs to deploy adequate personnel to ensure the safety of the participants and other residents of the state.
The Commissioner further appealed to all party stakeholders, members, and the public to maintain peace and avoid all forms of electoral violence and acts that could jeopardize the peaceful atmosphere currently enjoyed in the state.
He stated that members of the public are also enjoined to report to the nearest police station or call 08062335577 if they observe any person or group of persons in their environs who are suspected to be criminally minded.
