Former Governor of Ekiti state, Engineer Segun Oni, has expressed optimism that the forthcoming Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) January 26 primary election in the state will be free and fair despite the controversy that trailed the processes leading to the election of three-man delegates by party stakeholders in the state.
Chief Oni stated this while fielding questions from the PMParrot in Ado Ekiti on Sunday evening.
He said, “The exercise was disgraceful because nothing like a congress took place anywhere in the state. We have found out that the same thing happened almost in all the local government areas except Ikere Ekiti”.
Oni further stated how the materials for the exercise were diverted to another location in collaboration with one of the leaders of the party in the state.
Giving the way forward, the Ifaki Ekiti born politician stated that letters have been written to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party in Abuja to formally complain about the irregularities that marred the election of the three-Man ward congresses in the state, expressing optimism that justice would be delivered.
