Dutch Eredivisie giants, Feyenoord are interested in keeping Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker, Cyriel Dessers beyond this season, although it could be complicated.

Dessers has been brilliant for Feyenoord since he joined the club on a season-long loan deal from Belgian Jupiler League club Genk in the summer scoring eight goals and recorded one assist in 22 games for the Eredivisie side.

Although the season is only halfway, Feyenoord are already impressed with the 27-year-old’s services and want to keep him beyond this summer.

According to Mikos Gouka, De club aan de Maas, Sporting Director Frank Arnesen is already thinking of a way to ensure Dessers stay beyond this season.

However, that may prove difficult as there is no option to buy in the loan deal that took Dessers to De Kuip, while Genk also see him as a potential replacement for countryman Paul Onuachu.

With no option to buy included in the deal, Feyenoord are now considering paying Dessers buyout clause, which is in the excess of 4m euros.

Dessers current contract at Genk does not expire until 2024, having joined the club from Heracles in 2020.
