2023: Barr Akeem Aponmade, PDP House of Reps Aspirant Unveils Plan

Barrister Akeem Aponmade, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives aspirant in Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency has formally declared his intention to run in 2023.

He made this revelation while addressing stakeholders at the party’s secretariat in Moniya, Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State during the week.

Hon. Aponmade revealed that he decided to contest in order to provide qualitative and effective representation for the people of the constituency.

He said, “I am not satisfied with the quality of public service which our people have received so far. The people of Akinyele/Lagelu deserve better representation and it is palpably lacking. You need a representative at the National assembly with a clear vision and a workable plan”.

Continuing, he said “I am here seeking your unalloyed support to build on that solid foundation Governor Seyi Makinde has put in place in the areas of power and electrification, security and road infrastructure which will serve as the springboard for employment generation, industrial development technological advancement and many more positive indices of a good society”.

Speaking further, the ebullient lawyer stated that he would facilitate the development of 35MW and off grid embedded independent power generation systems in collaboration with independent IPP developers in order to bridge the gap of electricity in the constituency.

He further revealed that he would initiate the idea of rural electrification and developmental projects in his constituency in order to improve the living standard of the people, while vowing to compliment Governor Seyi Makinde’s landmark progress in road infrastructure and other developmental progress for the benefit of the residents of the state.

The experienced lawyer revealed that he would use his background as a security expert to make the establishment of state police a reality, while promising to facilitate essential community policing training in area of intelligence gathering, community security, and inter agency collaborations for Amotekun corps in Akinyele and Lagelu local government.

“Security is another area where we should encourage and complement government effort. If I am elected to represent you in the House of Representatives, I will go there and work with other members who share my view to ensure that we make laws that will make the establishment of state police a reality.

Continuing, for Amotekun corps in Akinyele and Lagelu local government Areas, I know their needs and I am prepared to support them”.

Barrister Aponmade, however, chided the All Progressives Congress-led federal government for the current economic woes being experienced in the country, stating that the country has continued to witnessed monumental failures under the APC administration.

He further commended the Engr. Seyi Makinde-led administration in Oyo State for redefining governance in the state and for the timely reconstruction of Saki-Ogbooro- Igboho road, Moniya-Ijaiye-Iseyin road, Oyo-Iseyin road, and the improvement of traffic management system at Challenge in Ibadan among others.

Hon. Aponmade, however, urged the people of the constituency to support his mandate promising never to disappoint them if elected.
