Barely hours after an announcement was made by the ruling All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State that the gubernatorial campaign of its candidate, Mr Biodun Oyebanji would be led by the state’s Governor Kayode Fayemi and others, Parrots have discovered that all is really not well with the party in the state.
Trust our Parrots, they have been everywhere in the state of knowledge seeking more political knowledge of what is really happening there.
While Parrots agreed that all is not exactly well with the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party in the state too because of perceived ‘overbearing and high handedness’ of the former governor of the state, Dr Ayodele Fayose, a relatively unknown party seems to be harvesting more members by the day.
Parrots authoritatively confirmed that this party in question is the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
From what was gathered on Tuesday morning, the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Engineer Segun Oni seems to be ‘importing’ human, intellectual and material resources from somewhere in Ikoyi, Lagos State. (Did we mention any name?)
It was also made known to Parrots that APC in particular has reached out to its national headquarters in Abuja for support. It was also revealed that south west leaders of the party have been meeting in the home of a notable legal practitioner in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State to find ways of bailing the party out so that all will not be put to shame at the fast approaching gubernatorial election in the state.
